RecycleMind offers a unique search option which allows the user to search for any product by its name and provides waste classification and recycling information about the product. If the product cannot be recycled at home, RecycleMind opens a map interface that allows you to find the nearest waste transfer station where you can recycle the product.
RecycleMind isn't exhaustive, the data found in our app is data provided openly by the local councils in Melbourne about their waste classification rules. We were aware of this shortcoming and designed the information section of the app. This section houses information on different types of waste materials the users could come in contact with during their day-to-day life and gives detailed water classification advice for them.
Melbourne has many councils and each council has their own waste classification rules, waste bin colours and waste recycling centres. RecycleMind is customized for every council, from the search results to the background colours of the app search screen, everything is designed to match your council so that you can feel secure in the information being provided to you by RecycleMind.
We understand that the biggest deterrent from people making active recycling efforts is that people feel their actions are minuscule and don't make enough difference in the bigger scheme of things.
